5 breakout candidates for the Jets in 2025

5 breakout candidates for the Jets in 2025 during training camp.

The New York Jets are attacking the 2025 NFL season with high hopes.

If those are going to be met, certain players need to have breakout seasons on both sides of the ball. Who of those have the best chance of doing so?

Here are five potential breakout player for the Jets in 2025:

WR Arian Smith

Rookies are expected to make impacts in 2025 and Smith might be one of them. He is having a steady training camp. The Jets offense needs a starter across from Garrett Wilson at receiver and Smith might have a chance to lock that spot down.

TE Mason Taylor

Another rookie and for ever better reason. Starting quarterback Justin Fields and Taylor have linked up a lot during training camp. This one almost feels certain to happen.

OL Armand Membou

New York Jets offensive tackle Armand Membou (70) participates in a drill during minicamp on June 10.

As the top draft pick for the Jets, the bar is high for Membou. But there is good reason he can have a strong start to his career. Regardless of his own skill and talent, Membou is joining a veteran offensive line that has already gelled. That helps.

CB Brandon Stephens

By most reports, Stephens has had a good start to his Jets career. The veteran is looking to fill the big shoes left behind by DJ Reed, but the Jets' gamble on his potential could be working out.

S Malachi Moore

Moore is vying for playing time and could edge out veteran Tony Adams for it in his rookie season. It is a top battle to watching during the upcoming preseason.
