The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a familiar look for a long time, with white and blue being the central elements of their branding. It looks like the organization is planning some changes ahead of the 2025-26 season, as they might be looking to bring back the beloved 'Trees' jersey from the late 1990s and the 2000s.
This is a throwback to the Kevin Garnett era in Minnesota, as those jerseys became synonymous with him. Every jersey was iconic due to the trim featuring all the little green trees that made the jerseys stand out. The Timberwolves still have the same Association, Icon, and Statement jerseys from last season, but they have a new throwback for their Classic jersey.
When Garnett returned to the Timberwolves for one final season in the 2015-16 campaign, it did not feel the same for some people. That was because of the jerseys they had during that time, which were the pivot to a simplistic design with Blue, White, and Black as the central colors.
They did not have the trees, so Garnett did not look the same in his final year. However, they are finally bringing it back after almost two decades without them. The trees are usually a big hit with the fans. This decision could be initiated by the new ownership group of Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez, who want to rekindle their relationship with Garnett.
A New Yet Familiar Look For The Timberwolves
The Timberwolves have only had two successful eras during their time in the NBA. That was when Garnett was the star player, and today's Timberwolves team. They are fresh from two consecutive Western Conference Finals berths.
With Lore and Rodriguez in charge, they want to give this new Timberwolves era a better look. They could still retain the color scheme, but they are soft-launching a new look with the return. It is one of the best designs the Timberwolves have ever had with these black jerseys that have the trim filled with green trees.

There is also loud buzz growing around a potential logo rebrand for Minnesota coming in the next few years. pic.twitter.com/bD6ZwCg7cO
At the same time, the Timberwolves will also wear the purple Prince design for their City Jersey in the 2025-26 season. The fans should be pleased with the variety of jerseys the team will have, as they will continue to play well and look good while doing it.
The Timberwolves Will Rebrand Soon
Even if it is not a drastic change, the Timberwolves should undergo a rebranding soon. They have looked the same for a long while, and that could lead to some changes with the jerseys that could be inspired by the trees design. Colors could also change, but it is tough to see them part ways with the Black, White, Blue, and Green colors.

A-Rod and Lore have hinted at switching things up at some point so let’s see what they cook up.

There could even be a change with the logo and the courts. This is an exciting time for the Timberwolves' overall aesthetics, as the ownership group wants them to embrace the state even more. As Minnesota sports continue to improve with the Vikings, Lynx, and more, the Timberwolves will look good while being one of the best NBA teams.
