This is astounding.
The Chicago White Sox, all of a sudden, are the best hitting team in baseball.
Yeah, seriously.
Since the All-Star Break, the White Sox have the best OPS in baseball, at .861.

To put this in context: The famed 1927 New York Yankees, called the Murderers' Row lineup, had a team OPS of .872.
First of all, that's insane, a full season hitting at that rate.
But it also means the White Sox have been nearly that good in this stretch.
The White Sox are 41-69. They're heading toward another disappointing season, albeit not a record-setting bad one like last year.
But somehow, they're on fire.
The White Sox have played 13 games since the All-Star break, entering Saturday night.
In that span, they are 9-4.
They have scored 90 runs in 115 innings played while allowing just 53 runs.
There have been 28 team doubles, 27 homers and seven steals in eight attempts.
The team is batting .292, reaching base at .337 and slugging a ridiculous .525.

The batting average on balls in play is .310 either, not a totally fluky number.
This is a team that has started to unload on baseballs, and it's coming from up and down the batting order.
It may not continue, but in a season still 28 games under .500, that's not even the point.
The point is that this has been fun. The White Sox are giving their fans a reason to smile again.
And if they somehow can keep some of this hitting mojo going into 2026, they may finally find a way to start turning things around.
