Boston Red Sox fans are fed up with quiet Trade Deadlines.

Several MLB teams made blockbuster moves at the Trade Deadline this season, but the Boston Red Sox weren't one of them. They did acquire southpaw pitcher Steven Matz (5-2, 3.44 ERA) from the St. Louis Cardinals and right-hander Dustin May (6-7, 4.85 ERA), but that haul pales in comparison to some other squads.

For example, the AL East-rival New York Yankees landed right-handed reliever Camilo Doval (4-2, 3.09 ERA), right-handed reliever David Bednar (2-5, 2.37 ERA), third baseman Ryan McMahon, outfielder Austin Slater, right-handed reliever Jake Bird, (4-1, 4.73 ERA), utilityman Amed Rosario, utilityman José Caballero, and minor league outfielder Wilberson De Pena.

Meanwhile, the fellow division-rival Toronto Blue Jays added right-handed starting pitcher Shane Bieber (2-0, 0.00 ERA), right-handed relievers Seranthony Dominguez (2-3, 3.09 ERA) and Louis Varland (3-3, 2.02 ERA), infielder Ty France and catching prospect Brandon Valenzuela.

Both of those teams are ahead of Boston in the standings, but they still acted with more urgency. Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow explained the team's decision-making on Thursday, via MassLive's Chris Cotillo.

"I understand the frustration and disappointment...There's not a lot of sympathy for how hard we tried to get deals across the line," he said.

While it's not easy to navigate the Trade Deadline, Boston fans are losing patience with an organization that hasn't made the playoffs since 2021. They were already frustrated after the team traded Rafael Devers in June, and now they're questioning how much the front office cares about immediate success.

"We all know it’s hard, but we see every team make moves every year. What am I missing?" one asked.

"Yankees addressed their need, Mets same, but the Ivy League dude 'tried.' Oh, feel better now…" another said.

"Doesn’t matter who our GM is as long as John Henry won’t let them spend money," another said.

"No. There’s not," another said. "You have the prospect capital to make big moves, but you don’t have the [expletive]. No sympathy for you, Craig."

"Nah, I don’t wanna hear that," another said.
