Achraf Hakimi could soon appear before the courts over a rape case.
The story dates back more than two years now. In February 2023, Achraf Hakimi, then 24 years old, was accused of rape by a young woman. After she reported the incident to the police, the player was placed under formal investigation a few days later and released under judicial supervision following police custody.
Since then, the investigation and judicial process seemed to have buried the case. However, it has resurfaced this summer.
