Starting cornerback Terrion Arnold is a key piece for the Lions heading into his second year in the league after turning in a rookie season worthy of a veteran in the Motor City.
Earlier this week, Arnold spoke about the his rookie season in the NFL, breaking down what he saw on film with Detroit Lions coaches, before delivering a message on a key area where he says he can improve.
Arnold told Fox 2 Detroit that he needs to stop himself from panicking this season, a mindset that is expected to serve him well as the team's top cover guy going up against some of the league's best receivers.
"First of all, the main thing I was telling my coaches, like, I just gotta make those plays," Arnold said. "If you go back and look at the tape, I'm there, in position, just gotta capitalize on the play.
"And then a lot of it was, just growth as far as, knowing how to maneuver in the league, even some of the refs coming up and saying they're not really used to that kind of sticky coverage, and, just kind of the league getting used to me and me getting used to this league," Arnold added.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide star was selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft and lived up to his billing with coach Dan Campbell's team.
Now on a healthier unit coached by former linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard, Arnold is expected to have more chances to shine in year two with the pass rush likely to improve behind a healthy Aidan Hutchinson.
