The University of Kentucky made an announcement regarding New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns amid the NBA offseason.
Kentucky Makes Karl-Anthony Towns Announcement Amid NBA Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The NBA offseason has quieted down since the end of the Las Vegas Summer League as many of the top free agents have already signed new deals.
Despite this, there are still many solid players still available and teams like the New York Knicks are still looking to add another player to their roster to help them compete for a championship next season.
For New York, they have already added Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in free agency to upgrade their bench but they do still have one more roster spot open entering next season.
While the Knicks are looking at multiple options to fill their final roster spot, their star center Karl-Anthony Towns was in the news on Wednesday night.
This was due to a major announcement by the University of Kentucky as they announced that Towns was inducted into their Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2025.

This is an incredible honor for Towns as he has become one of the best centers in the NBA following his one incredible season at Kentucky during the 2014-15 season.
In his only season with the Wildcats, Towns averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.3 blocks per game while shooting 56.6% from the field and 25.0% from three.
He also led Kentucky to an incredible 38-1 record, though they came up just short of an undefeated season after losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four.
After his impressive season at Kentucky, Towns was then selected first overall in the 2015 draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves where he played nine seasons before he was traded to the Knicks last offseason.
During his first season in New York, the 29-year-old star played a key role in helping lead the Knicks to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000.
Now Towns and the Knicks will look to improve on their incredible season last year as they chase a championship next season.
