The Detroit Lions will play their first preseason game of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday. However, there’s no confirmation yet whether fans will be able to see their star quarterback, Jared Goff.
Goff has had quite an eventful offseason with his family. The big news is that he and his wife, Christen Harper Goff, welcomed their first child. Their beautiful daughter, Romy Isabelle, joined the family on July 15.
The couple announced the good news in a joint post with a one-word message, "Romy 💌." Many flocked to congratulate the couple, including the Lions, who posted, "Congratulations!! 🩷🩷🩷."
During the NFL Honors red carpet, the couple broke the news about the pregnancy to People. Goff revealed that he was looking forward to the offseason.
“I'm looking forward to becoming a dad,” he said.
Charna Flam and Skyler Caruso wrote, "Goff told PEOPLE that he’s 'always dreamt' of becoming a father. Now that 'it's real,' he said he can't wait. 'I know it'll add a new perspective to life, and it'll be great.'"
"The expectant father also told PEOPLE that he thinks Harper will be the 'best mom.' Adding, 'I can't wait to watch her be a mom.'"
"Harper [Goff] echoed similar sentiments and said, 'I know he's going to be the best, and it's just gonna be exciting to do this together as a team.'"
The couple got married last year on June 22, in Ojai, California. They met on the dating app Raya in 2019 and became engaged in June 2022, celebrating an intimate, elegant ceremony.
