Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky is set to join French Ligue 1 club Monaco, but the Bundesliga runners-up first want to sign a replacement, Sky TV reported on Saturday.

Sky said that the two clubs have agreed on the transfer in which Monaco will pay €4 million ($4.6 million) for the 35-year-old Finland international.

Hradecky, 35, is yet to undergo a Monaco medical but that will come as soon as Leverkusen have landed a new keeper, the report said.

Hradecky joined Leverkusen in 2018 from Eintracht Frankfurt and played 268 matches for them. He was team captain in the club's historic 2023-24 season in which they won a maiden Bundesliga title without defeat, and the German Cup.

But Hradecky faced losing his number one status for the new season after Leverkusen signed Dutchman Mark Flekken.

Hradecky is set to join a Leverkusen exodus after playmaker Florian Wirtz and full back Jeremie Frimpong went to Liverpool, midfielder Granit Xhaka to Sunderland, and centre back Jonathan Tah to German champions Bayern Munich. Coach Xabi Alonso has also left, for Real Madrid, with Erik ten Hag now in charge.
