The Los Angeles Rams have watched a 2025 free agent leave the team in awe during NFL Training Camp. But it's not Davante Adams.
Instead, it's a little known free agent pickup impressing the franchise at Loyola Marymount.
The Rams signed linebacker Nate Landman to a modest one-year deal paying him at $1.1 million. Landman, however, is playing like he's about to stick around L.A. longer.
The former Atlanta Falcons LB has shown his dominance in the middle of the field. He's even began to call the defensive signals. Indicating he's gunning for green dot duties by Week 1. Landman has gone far enough to win over one of the defensive captains already in Quentin Lake.
"Fantastic player," Lake began. "He has just a knack for the ball and we see so many clips, Coach McVay shows them in the team meeting room of him doing it in Atlanta and then you see it out here and you understand why he's able to cause those turnovers.”
Lake added: “He practices the right way, a great communicator, fantastic teammate. Great addition for us and I can't wait to see what he's going to do during the season as well.”
Landman made his presence known during Back Together Saturday. He pulled off the "Peanut punch" move made famous by former NFL All-Pro Charles Tillman.

Landman even delivered a crucial stop during a fourth-and-one sequence when the Rams performed 11-on-11 drills. Lake, again, is watching a new star emerge during this time of year.
"His transition really has been flawless. You guys have seen it, he's been making a ton of plays," Lake said.
Even Sean McVay is taking a liking to what he's seeing.
"He’s one of those guys, he has some natural leadership traits and characteristics. I think you're innately thrust into that when you play an inside linebacker position. He’s just got a good feel," McVay told reporters. "He's got great awareness, a good understanding of how to be able to positively uplift his teammates and challenge them in the right way. I love what this guy is about.”
Landman played three seasons in Atlanta. Tallying 192 total tackles including 110 in 2023. He also snatched seven tackles for a loss that season. But he enters the "Rams House" delivering a combined six forced fumbles the last two seasons. Continued emergence could mean a new ILB leader for L.A.
