2025 Free Agency Rundown
The Blues entered the 2025 off-season coming off a first-round loss to the Winnipeg Jets in the playoffs. While they initially weren’t expected to make the postseason, St. Louis went on an impressive 12-game winning streak to make a final push for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference. Before the 2025 free agency period began, St. Louis signed goaltender Joel Hofer to a two-year contract extension. They acquired defenceman Logan Mailloux in exchange for Zack Bolduc and signed Nick Bjugstad and former Canuck Pius Suter to two-year deals. Other than this, St. Louis didn’t make many major changes aside from at depth positions.

2025–26 Season Series Preview
St. Louis is in an interesting position for the 2025–26 season. They’ll likely be a thorn in Vancouver’s side throughout the year in terms of chasing down a playoff spot, as the Central Division will likely see a repeat of their top-three teams from 2024–25 (Winnipeg, Dallas Stars, and Colorado Avalanche). Adding Suter and Bjugstad to their arsenal will do wonders for the Blues in the center position, as their two free-agent center additions could switch on and off as third-and-fourth-line guys down the middle.
Vancouver faces St. Louis three times in the 2025–26 season, with their first matchup occurring at home on October 13. As mentioned, St. Louis’ depth at center will be something for the Canucks to look out for once they take them on. Their next game is on October 30 in St. Louis, and their final season matchup will take place on March 21 back in Vancouver.
