Tyreek hill has been the talk of the Dolphins since the last game of the 2024-2025 season. It turns out he wasn't exactly tuned into the offense.
The Miami Dolphins have had quite the start to training camp. On the very first day, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa revealed that the entire locker room isn’t completely over Tyreek Hill’s comments from the end of last season.
“It's not just with me, it's with a lot of the guys. I'm not the only one that heard that. You guys aren't the only people that heard that," Tagovailoa said. "A lot of people that follow football, that follow the Miami Dolphins, that follow Tyreek, that are fans of his — everyone has seen that. So, when you say something like that, you don't just come back from that with, 'Hey, my bad.' You got to work that relationship up; you've got to build everything back up again.”
Tagovailoa later clarified his comments, saying his response was more about accountability and maintaining the team’s standard.
“I don’t feel it’s me talking bad about my teammate,” Tagovailoa said on NFL Network. “I’m just trying to hold him accountable, because that’s what we try to do with everyone on our team. And if this is what we say the standard is, that’s what the standard is, and no one is exempt from it.”
To his credit, Hill has taken steps this offseason to show the Dolphins he’s in a better headspace. However, he made a surprising admission about his grasp of Miami’s offense.
“I'm gonna' be completely honest. I didn't understand the offense for the first three years of me being here," Hill said, per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. "But this year, I feel like Coach (Slowik) has explained it a lot."

Hill remains one of the most dangerous wide receivers in the league, but admitting he didn’t fully understand the offense for three years raises eyebrows. He clarified that he now feels more comfortable going into this season, but for a veteran, it’s a surprising revelation.
