At times, it is the outfit that gets everyone talking about more than the play itself. This week, it was Nelly Korda’s fit at the AIG Women’s Open that had grabbed attention. Not her scorecard, not her backswing, her pants. Yes, really.

The World No. 1 stepped onto the fairways at the AIG Women’s Open in Royal Porthcawl wearing camo-print cargo pants. Let that sink in. On a course known for stiff winds and stricter traditions, Korda brought a little edge, pairing the camo look with a cropped olive Nike windbreaker and crisp white golf shoes. Maybe in another round, she swapped the jacket for a taupe long-sleeve but kept the camo locked in.

This wasn’t your typical LPGA outfit. Golf fashion usually leans toward safe, pleated skirts, tapered slacks and clean polos. But Korda clearly isn’t interested in blending in. Her loose-fit pants, drawstring ankles, and military tones broke the mold. It was different. And it worked. Her ponytail stayed classic, tucked under her signature white visor.

No Apologies, No Explaining Needed

Ahead of the tournament, Korda sat down for her pre-round press conference and kept it real. When asked about the pressure to win globally, she didn’t flinch. “I feel like I don’t really have anything more to prove to people ever,” she said. “I’m passionate about the game. I love playing in these kinds of conditions… and I still want to experience those highs.”

Korda hasn’t picked up a win this season, even though her stats are still among the best. She ranks first in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and sits third overall. Still, the results haven’t lived up to what she hoped for. This week at Royal Porthcawl is her last chance to grab a major title in 2025.

Still, she isn’t chasing approval. She’s chasing that feeling. That rush. That craving for a win. And she’s doing it in her own way. Because why not?
