After winning seven straight games, the New York Mets' magic disappeared in the last couple of nights. They lost to the San Diego Padres on Monday and Tuesday, and superstar slugger Juan Soto went down with an injury in the latter contest.

The former World Series champion left the game after fouling a ball off his left foot in the fourth. He did finish his at-bat after getting checked by a trainer, grounding out to Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth. However, he got subbed out for fellow outfielder Tyrone Taylor after that.

Soto finished the contest 0-for-2, and the Mets later lost 7-1. The 26-year-old opened up about his pain level postgame, via SNY.

"It's actually numb," he said. "I don't feel anything right now."

Soto, whose X-rays came back negative, is day-to-day and could play for New York on Wednesday, via SNY. However, fans on social media are still concerned about his comment.

"Oh boy…. NOT what you wanna hear," one said.

"That's how it was for [Jose] Siri, too," another said. Siri is on the 60-day IL with a fractured tibia.

"Noooooooooooo!!" another said.

"Well, that’s not good," another said.

"This is horrible news," another said.

Soto is slashing .248/.382/.488 with 25 homers and 62 RBI over 107 games this season. The veteran leads the Mets in homers and OBP, while his .871 OPS ranks 13th in baseball.

New York will finish its series in San Diego on Wednesday. Right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes (9-5, 3.40 ERA) will start for the Mets against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish (0-3, 9.18 ERA).
