Premier League CEO Breaks Silence on Man City Case Delay
The long running case against Man City continues to stir frustration as Premier League CEO Richard Masters offered rare comment along with an apology , regarding the delay in announcing verdict.
Why the Silence?
Appearing on NBC Sports, Masters was asked about the status of the investigation into City’s alleged breaches of financial rules between 2009 & 2018 for which the club still faces 115 charge.
His response:
"You can ask but our rules are very clear. The process's confidential so I can't share any timeline or details. I’m sorry about that"

Investigation Timeline: What’s the Hold-Up?
Despite City’s denial of all allegations and claims of having "irrefutable evidence" the club only submitted its full defense during 2 month hearing that concluded in Sep 2024.
Nearly 8 month later, the independent commission handling the case has yet to deliver verdict leaving fans, media and rivals in suspense.
Expected Ruling in October
According to fresh British reports, a decision may finally come in Oct 2025 likely during the international break. If confirmed it would mark the conclusion of one of the most complex legal battles in Premier League history.
