Arsenal’s New No14 Responds to Thierry Henry Comparisons
Viktor Gyokeres Arsenal’s new Swedish striker has addressed the inevitable comparisons to club legend Thierry Henry after being handed the iconic No14 shirt.
Too Soon for Comparisons?
The 26 year old, signed from Sporting Lisbon admitted it’s tough to measure up to player of Henry’s status calling it "difficult comparison" due to the many variables between eras & teams.
Speaking to The Sun, Gyokeres said:
"It depends who you pick. Some players have done better after moving from Portugal to England. It’s hard to compare players and how they perform in different league , there're many different factors"
“It’s not been an easy path for me to get here” 💪

History Repeating?
Gyokeres's aware of the PL’s mixed record with stars arriving from Portugal. Examples like Darwin Nunez (25 goal in 95 game for Liverpool), Islam Slimani (8 in 36 for Leicester) and Fabio Silva (4 in 62 for Wolves) fuel skepticism.
However success stories such as Cristiano Ronaldo (103 goal for Man United) & Raul Jimenez (59 goal for Wolves & Fulham) offer hope.
"Not Everything’s in My Hands"
"Playing for better team makes things easier especially as attacking player. We’ll see. What people expect or believe , it’s out of my hands"..
