Max Verstappen makes huge announcement on future with Red Bull

Red Bull fans have gotten the update they've been waiting for.

Over the past few months, rumors have circulated about Max Verstappen potentially joining a different team in Formula One.

He's one of the best drivers on the grid, and any team would go above and beyond to add the 27-year-old to their lineup.

With uncertainty circulating, Verstappen decided to set the facts straight in a recent announcement.

What did Verstappen say?

Verstappen put an end to the questions surrounding him, saying, "I think it's time to basically stop all the rumors, for me it's always been quite clear that I was staying anyway."

He's been the individual champion each of the last four years in Formula One (2021-2024).

Speculation about Max potentially leaving Red Bull rose, especially after the news came out that Christian Horner, former Red Bull team principal, was sacked from his job.

Verstappen didn't particularly love the decision, especially since Horner was the principal during the past few years when Max was winning the championship each year.

He's currently in a position that he hasn't faced in a few years, which is trailing by a large margin of points in the 2025 Drivers standings.

Max is in third place with 185 points, behind McLaren's two drivers, Lando Norris (250 points) and Oscar Piastri (266 points).

Verstappen has just two race wins and five podiums through 13 races, with 11 more to go in 2025.

He set an incredible standard in past years, which teams have started to catch up to, as other teams like McLaren have gotten faster and more experienced.

The Hungarian Grand Prix is the next race on the calendar, taking place on August 3rd.
