As L'Équipe reports, St.Pauli could be set to break their own transfer record within weeks as their attention turns to a striker in France.
Lassine Sinayoko, who scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in 34 games for AJ Auxurre in Ligue 1 last season, is the target.
However, the Bundesliga club's initial offer of €4million euros plus €1million in potential bonuses for Sinayoko was supposedly rejected.
According to the report, Dinamo Moscow suffered a similar fate after their €6million transfer fee didn't meet Auxurre's standards.
Although this far exceeds St. Pauli's usual transfer fees, an “increased offer” from St.Pauli could arrive soon, according to the French daily.
Should a deal be struck, St.Pauli would surpass its own €3.5million transfer record paid for Joel Chima Fujita who joined just a few weeks ago.
