New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart named three teammates who have impressed him the most during his first months with the franchise. Dart, the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, is expected to be the face of the team for many years, although Brian Daboll and Co. want to bring him along slowly.
The team's front office had a busy offseason, adding seasoned veterans in free agency and drafting intriguing rookies, such as linebacker Abdul Carter and running back Cam Skattebo. Dart has been impressed by those two players, who are also considered key parts of the team's plans.
Jaxson Dart is already building chemistry with teammates
Talking with Kay Adams on her "Up & Adams" show on Tuesday, Dart mentioned Carter and Skattebo as part of the trio of players that have stood out the most to him. Additionally, he threw an undrafted free agent into the conversation.
"I knew Abdul was legit before," Dart said. "I already played against him in college. I went in a lot of meetings saying he was one of the best player I've ever played against. It's been fun playing with [Skattebo], he's my locker buddy, so he has a ton of energy every single day.
"A guy that's come up here and played really well is [wide receiver] Dalen Cambre. UDFA guy who does his job to an elite level and someone that we can always rely on."

The Giants are coming off a terrible 4-13 season in 2024, which earned them the No. 3 overall pick they they used to select Carter from Penn State. They traded back into the first round to select Dart, their quarterback for the future, who Russell Wilson and potential trade candidate Jameis Winston will mentor.
After seeing Saquon Barkley join the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024 offseason and cutting Daniel Jones mid-season, the Giants have renewed expectations. Dart is the face of the new era and he's laying the groundwork to lead the squad when he gets the call to start.
Jaxson Dart plans to be "aggressive but not reckless" in the NFL
With Wilson, Winston and Tommy DeVito on the team's depth chart, the former Ole Miss quarterback has several players to learn from. He's already feeling in better condition than during his college days and is envisioning what he'll look like when he takes the field.
"I don't want to play like a robot," Dart said, via NFL.com. "I think that's just my play style. When I'm on the field, I'm going to be aggressive in any situation. A quote that we go by in the quarterback room is, 'Being aggressive but not reckless.' So, when you have opportunities to put the dagger in, that's what you have to do. And, at the same time, you can't be reckless."
Dart and the Giants will kick off preseason on Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. ET against the Buffalo Bills.
