Many around the NBA expected the Sacramento Kings to begin a rebuild this offseason after they traded De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs last season.

Instead, the Kings have elected to upgrade their roster and chase a playoff spot in the Western Conference next season.

So far this summer, the Kings have added Dennis Schroder, Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud, Dario Saric and Drew Eubanks to their roster but more moves may be coming as Sacramento has been linked to many different players.

One player the Kings have continued to be linked to over the past few weeks is Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga who they would have to acquire in a sign-and-trade deal due to him being a restricted free agent.

If this happens, Sactown Sports 1140’s Allen Stiles believes that they will trade DeMar DeRozan to open up playing time for Kuminga in the starting lineup and he also came up with a potential trade the Kings could pull off.

Stiles came up with a mock trade that would send DeRozan to the Miami Heat in exchange for Terry Rozier and two second-round picks.

Of course, this trade would be mainly a salary dump for the Kings as they would be getting back a small package for their star forward, though Rozier would be a solid addition to their backcourt.

Miami has been linked to DeRozan for most of the offseason as they try to upgrade their roster for next season and this trade would work out for both teams, especially if the Kings are able to land Kuminga from Golden State.

For Rozier, he struggled mightily with the Heat last season and he is also still being investigated for gambling allegations during his time with the Charlotte Hornets.

Because of this, the Kings may want more in return for DeRozan in a potential trade with the Heat or they could also look for another team to send their star forward to this offseason.
