In what has been a roller coaster of a season for the Boston Red Sox, they have gone through their fair share of ups and downs. Ultimately, with only a couple of months left in the regular season, they are in a decent spot with a chance to make a big late-season push.

Among their bright spots this season has been outfielder Roman Anthony, who was the top prospect in baseball before Boston called him up in June.

After a slow start to his MLB career, the 21-year-old has turned it up in recent games. Following the Red Sox' victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, teammate Alex Bregman made a shocking statement regarding Anthony and his former Houston Astros teammate, Yordan Alvarez.

Anthony has become a crucial part of Boston's success this season, and that has not gone unnoticed by his teammates. After Sunday's victory, Bregman compared Anthony to Alvarez, a three-time All-Star, and said he is "going to be a special, special player."

"He's going to be a special, special player. So it's definitely fun hitting in front of or behind him in this lineup. And reminds me of earlier in my career when Yordan Alvarez got called up. That's my player comp for him," Bregman said about Anthony.

Anthony has been fantastic for the Red Sox this season, and he has an incredibly bright future. If he can reach Alvarez's level, which Bregman believes he can, that will be a huge success for him and the Red Sox as a whole.

Since the beginning of July, the Florida native is batting .315 with a .925 OPS. Additionally, he has hit one home run and recorded 10 RBIs during that stretch. As the Red Sox look to re-enter the title picture, Anthony will be a crucial player to keep an eye on for the foreseeable future.
