Reds trade for Ke'Bryan Hayes from Pittsburgh Pirates. What we know

The Reds acquired Ke'Bryan Hayes from the Pirates in exchange for reliever Taylor Rogers and prospect Sammy Stafura.

The Cincinnati Reds have traded for Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes, The Enquirer confirmed Wednesday.

Hayes, 28, comes to Cincinnati in exchange for veteran reliever Taylor Rogers, who the Reds acquired this past offseason, and prospect Sammy Stafura. Hayes checks several boxes for Cincinnati at the trade deadline as he's under team control through 2029, and affords the club flexibility with its existing players.

An MLB veteran of six seasons, Hayes is hitting .236 with two home runs in 369 at-bats for Pittsburgh in 2025.

ESPN's Jeff Passan was first to report the trade.

The Enquirer will update this report.
