VfB Stuttgart are considering setting a deadline for Bayern Munich in their quest to sign Nick Woltemade (h/t German outlet Bild).

Stuttgart have already rejected Bayern’s offer worth €50 million plus €5 million in bonuses, causing the negotiations to stall.

Woltemade, for his part, is keen on securing a move to the Allianz Arena. He has reached a verbal agreement with the Bundesliga champions on a five-year deal until 2030 for a reported salary worth €7.5m per season.

However, Stuttgart are proving to be tough negotiators and have placed a price tag worth €65 million for their prized asset.

They want to issue an ultimatum to Bayern to sort out the deal before the clash between the two sides in the DFL Super Cup on August 16. Otherwise, Woltemade will continue at Stuttgart this season irrespective of higher proposals.

Bayern are expected to resume the talks for Woltemade, having signed Luis Diaz from Liverpool for €75 million, which makes him the Bavarians’ third expensive signing ever.

After missing out on Florian Wirtz, the Bundesliga champions want to add another top German prospect, Woltemade, to their ranks.

Woltemade has enjoyed a meteoric rise following an eye-catching 2024/25 season, where he led Stuttgart to the DFB Pokal title.

The 23-year-old later finished as the top scorer at the U-21 European Championship with six goals.

Woltemade is touted as a backup for first-choice striker Harry Kane, but the German international can also play as an attacking midfielder.

Following Thomas Muller’s departure and Jamal Musiala’s long-term injury, Woltemade can slot into the No.10 role at Bayern.

Bayern have so far completed the signings of Jonthan Tah, Tom Bischof and Diaz in this window.
