Davante Adams clears the air on beef with Jimmy Garoppolo after 'miserable' Raiders stint

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams has reunited with Jimmy Garoppolo, a quarterback he once signed off on the benching of. Adams has cleared the air on his relationship with Jimmy G., while also taking a shot at the Raiders.

Jimmy Garoppolo and Davante Adams are together again with the Los Angeles Rams.

That's significant to point out because Adams was seen going off over his frustration with Garoppolo's struggles under center during the Netflix series "Receiver" while the pair were on the Las Vegas Raiders together in 2023.

In fact, Adams even admitted he signed off on Jimmy G., who was cut by Las Vegas next year, getting benched in favor of then-rookie, Aidan O'Connell.

Fast forward to 2025 and Adams inked a deal in free agency with the Rams, where Garoppolo re-upped after spending the 2024 season as Matthew Stafford's backup.

Making things more interesting, Stafford is hurt, which means the Jimmy-Davante connection, rivaled only by the Aaron Rodgers-Davante connection (sarcasm, of course) is back, at least until Stafford is healthy and returns to practice.

Adams was a guest with ESPN Los Angeles recently and cleared the air on his relationship with Garoppolo while also taking a shot at the Raiders.

“I love Jimmy. It was never a personal thing,” Adams said. “It’s been amazing, we’ve gotten to catch up and get on the same page. Obviously that was just a dark moment in all of our lives. I think all of us were pretty miserable over there.

"We kind of caught up and laughed about it, and we’ve been making plays since we’ve been here.”

Upon Adams signing with the Rams, Jimmy G. took the high road when asked about reuniting with the veteran wide receiver.

“Pumped, man,” Garoppolo said of rejoining Adams. “Haven’t seen him in a while. Talented receiver. It’ll be fun seeing him again, just getting back on the same page. I’ve seen what he can do before.”

Adams, who facilitated a trade to the Raiders in 2022 in order to play with former college teammate Derek Carr, forced his way out of Las Vegas in 2024 and landed with the New York Jets, which didn't yield better results.

Now, Adams will look to aid a Rams team that made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game last season. And, if Stafford is forced to miss time for any reason, Adams will relive his Raiders nightmare with Jimmy G. under center.
