Marc Mechenoua understands that Lille OSC have pulled out of the race to sign Stoke City’s Sol Sidibé (18), who is now set to complete a move to PSV Eindhoven.
Sidibé had been a target for Lille throughout the summer, however, there haven’t been departures in their midfield. Benjamin André, whose future had been very unclear, has recently extended his deal, whilst funds are also limited for LOSC, who have not sold players that they were expecting to depart, notably Edon Zhegrova.
Les Dogues have therefore pulled out of the deal to sign the Franco-English midfielder, who is now set to complete a move to the Eredivisie. Mechenoua understands that Sidibé is set to make the switch from Stoke City to PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth €2.5 m. The midfielder is expected to sign a four-year deal with the Dutch side. The centre-midfielder has represented England at U17 and U18 level.
