Will a Philadelphia Phillie be enshrined in the Hall of Fame next year? Here's a look at the 2026 ballot.
The Philadelphia Phillies had another former player enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 27 when Dick Allen was inducted.
Allen was enshrined with Dave Parker, C.C. Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki and Billy Wagner.
Will another Phillie make the Hall of Fame soon?
It's possible. The 2026 Hall of Fame ballot will have a few players with distinguished careers who played for the Phillies. Ballots will go out later this year, and the results will be announced in January.
Here's a look at the Phillies on the potential 2026 Hall of Fame ballot. To make the Hall of Fame, players need to be named on 75% of the ballots.
Bobby Abreu
Abreu played nine years with the Phillies (1998-2006) and had a 47.7 wins above replacement during his time in Philadelphia. He was a two-time All-Star with the Phillies in the years leading up to Philadelphia's rise to two-time National League champions. It's Abreu's seventh time on the ballot. He was named on 19.5% of the ballots in 2025. He finished with a .291 batting average, 288 home runs, 1,453 runs, 1,363 RBIs and 400 stolen bases. Abreu also won the 2005 Home Run Derby.
Jimmy Rollins
Rollins is making his fifth appearance on the ballot and was named on 18% of the ballots in 2025. Rollins was a cornerstone on the Phillies' 2008 World Series championship team and 2009 National League championship team. Rollins, a three-time All-Star, was the National League MVP in 2007 after hitting .296 with 30 home runs, 94 RBIs, and scoring a league-leading 139 runs. He also led the National League in triples. He won four Gold Gloves. He finished his career with a .264 batting average, 1,421 runs, 2,455 hits, 231 home runs, 470 stolen bases and a WAR of 47.9.
Chase Utley
Utley is making his third appearance on the ballot and was named on 39.8% of the ballots in 2025. Like Rollins, Utley was another vital piece of the Phillies' 2008 World Series championship team and 2009 National League championship team. He was a six-time All-Star and won four Silver Slugger awards. Utley tied the record for most home runs in a World Series, hitting five against the New York Yankees in 2009. His career Wins Above Replacement was 64.6. He finished with a .275 average with 259 homers and 1,025 RBIs.
Cole Hamels
Hamels is making his first appearance on the Hall of Fame ballot. The four-time All-Star was lights out during the 2008 postseason, winning the National League Championship Series MVP, going 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 13 strikeouts, and the 2008 World Series MVP, going 1-0 with a 2.77 ERA and eight strikeouts. He was also 2-0, pitching eight shutout innings with nine strikeouts against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Division Series. He finished his career with a 57.9 WAR. As a Phillie, he went 114-90 with a 3.30 ERA and 1,844 strikeouts. For his career, he was 163-122 with a 3.43 ERA and 2,560 strikeouts. He also threw a no-hitter against the Chicago Cubs in 2015 before he was traded to the Texas Rangers.
Howie Kendrick
Not the first name that comes to mind when you think of the Phillies. Kendrick was traded to the Phillies in 2016 and played 39 games for Philadelphia before being shipped to the Washington Nationals at the 2017 trade deadline. He batted .340 as a Phillie in 2017. During his 15-year career, Kendrick was an All-Star once (2011) and finished with a 35 WAR and a .294 career average.
Hunter Pence
Between productive years with the Houston Astros and San Francisco Giants, Pence played for the Phillies for 155 games. He hit .324 for the Phillies in 2011, but only played in 54 games. He followed it up with a strong 2012, hitting .271 with 17 homers and 59 RBIs in 101 games before being traded to the Giants at the trade deadline. Pence finished his career with four All-Star game appearances, two World Series rings (Giants in 2012 and 2014), a .279 batting average, 244 home runs and 30.9 career WAR.
