Alyssa Thomas continues to prove that she's one of the best acquisitions for the Phoenix Mercury this season. Thomas has performed admirably for her new WNBA squad despite no longer being on the younger side. On Sunday, the veteran forward had another historic game, leading to an 88-72 win over the Washington Mystics.

This season, Thomas has helped the team to a 16-9 record, which is the second-best in the Western Conference. The forward formed a dynamic duo with All-Star forward Satou Sabally. Her co-star has also been one of the most important players for the Phoenix franchise, averaging 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 20 games.

In their contest against the Mystics, however, Thomas got most of the attention with her historic performance.

Thomas had 27 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and three steals on 70.6% shooting. According to the team's post on X, a game like what their star forward did has only happened twice. Ironically, both games belong to the six-time All-Star.

"The stat line: 27 PTS, 11 REB, 8 AST, 3 STL. Has happened twice in WNBA history. Both by Alyssa Thomas," the Mercury posted.

In the 2025 season, Thomas is averaging 15.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game.

In her first season with the Mercury, she has made a significant impact on the team that lost Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner in the offseason. With Thomas, the Mercury are still a promising team that could be a threat in the playoffs.
