PSG are dealing with growing uncertainty between the posts, with Lucas Chevalier emerging as a possible long-term solution. Gianluigi Donnarumma remains under contract through 2026, but talks over an extension have stalled, and no agreement appears close.

Manchester United, meanwhile, could be eyeing changes in their goalkeeper situation—and Donnarumma is reportedly on their list.

According to a previous report from RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, Donnarumma remains at PSG, but his agents are actively exploring the market to identify a possible landing spot.

The Italian goalkeeper has attracted interest from several clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Galatasaray, and teams in Saudi Arabia. Still, Donnarumma remains committed to PSG and is expected to leave only if a new project fully convinces him.

Internally, PSG have not ruled out the possibility of Donnarumma competing with Lucas Chevalier for the starting role, with Luis Enrique set to make the final decision, per Hawkins.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United have emerged as the favorites to sign Donnarumma.Talks have taken place in recent hours between the goalkeeper’s representatives and the club.

At PSG, goalkeeping situations like this have often become a real headache. Having two top-level goalkeepers share the spotlight has rarely worked out, as seen in the past with Alphonse Areola and Keylor Navas, or later with Navas and Donnarumma.

Italian journalist Valentina Clemente, who knows PSG’s inner workings well, cautions that this setup always involves complications. As a result, it would be in the capital club’s best interest to sell Donnarumma if Chevalier does arrive.

“Having two goalkeepers share the role—we know that doesn’t work in Paris,” Clemente told Foot Mercato. “They’re managing a tricky situation right now because if things shift suddenly, they could end up without a key goalkeeper.”
