Notts County have signed former Borussia Monchengladbach player Keanan Bennetts on a one-year contract following a successful trial at the League Two club.

The 26-year-old, who can play wing-back, midfielder and as a forward, returns to England having spent the past three seasons playing in the German second tier and Austrian top flight.

His previous spell in the English Football League came during a loan with Ipswich Town, then in League One, in 2020-21.

Bennetts started his career with Tottenham before joining Gladbach in July 2018, where he would go on to make five Bundesliga appearances.

He dropped down a division for a loan spell with Darmstadt, helping them win promotion to the top flight in 2022-23.

He recently left Austria Klagenfurt, where he arrived on a short-term contract in January.

"We're very pleased to secure Keanan's services, having had the chance to work closely with him during his trial period," Notts director of football Roberto Gagliardi said.

"Keanan has a mixture of everything you look for in an attack-minded wing-back, most notably his pace, power and strength - attributes we've been keen to add to the squad this summer."
