Jessica Moss is detailing the realities of an NFL family.

The wife of Cincinnati Bengals running back Zack Moss opened up on TikTok about the challenges she's currently facing as a mom of two who's home alone postpartum with her kids while her husband's at training camp with a neck injury.

"My husband has been gone for about a week for training camp, and it's been one of the hardest weeks in his NFL career," she began the video shared on Monday, July 28, before explaining why she didn't join him on the grounds this year.

Jessica, who wed Zack in October 2022, said that it can be "really stressful" moving out when relocating to training camp when the season starts because they have to "haul all [their] stuff back and forth" — that is, unless families "have a football home," she added.

The couple decided on purchasing a furnished place in Utah since Zack had a two-year contract, so they don't have a football home. Plus, settling into a place made it easier on them and their two kids, son Xavien, 2, and daughter Promise, 2 months.

Meanwhile, Jessica — whose relationship with Zack began in college when attending the University of Utah together — hasn't missed one of his training camps since he was selected in the third round by the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft.

However, this year's decision not to tag along was more than just the inconvenience of packing up their belongings. Medical complications played a large part in her choice to stay home with their kids.

"He is recovering from an injury from last season. He fractured his neck and he is not completely healthy yet," she shared of her husband in the video. "He has some scary symptoms and we are just rehabbing and doing everything [he] can to get healthy."

On Nov. 1 last season, Zack learned his neck was broken in three places two days before the Bengals were scheduled to play the Las Vegas Raiders. In the two months that followed, the athlete was in a neck brace and was limited to minimal movement, per the doctor's request.

Retirement came up in conversation between Zack and head coach Zac Taylor, per The Athletic, though the running back instantly thought about his wife and two kids back at home.

"I wanted to be done, I could have stayed at home and not left my wife and two kids by herself," the player said, per the outlet. "I could have made that call and called it a day. My intention is to be here, to do what I have to do rehab-wise and then go from there... That’s all I can do."

If it were up to Jessica, she said in her TikTok that she'd "probably still go" out to training camp, but it didn't make sense to her if she can't watch him practice. Plus, she said she's favoring the "help" she has in Utah with her family around.

The content creator said she's been seeing on social media her friends who are on different teams visit and spend time with their partners, which is hard for her to watch.

"It's so sad. I want to be there so bad, because I can also only imagine how bored my husband is, especially when he has no one to come home to," she continued. "So obviously with my husband not being home, it's been a lot on me with the two kids."

"I'm also still postpartum," she noted, optimistically adding, "But we're still figuring it out."

Despite the challenges they're facing at the moment, Jessica is finding hope in the situation.

"I'm just grateful that he's going into his sixth year in the League, and I'll be out there soon.

Jessica isn't the only NFL wife or girlfriend (WAG) sharing her experience on TikTok. She joins several others who are opening up about the challenges of being in a relationship with a professional football player, particularly around the training camp period.

Recently, Rochelle Searight — whose husband is Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers — explained why so many NFL WAGs are "freaking out" online, breaking down on TikTok why they're in a "panic" ahead of the season's start.

"Let me give y’all some of these details on training camp and why everybody’s in a panic,” she continued, before citing a few examples from her own experiences having been with an NFL player since at least November 2018, per her Instagram.

"They have to report to work and they have to sleep in their hotel, they have a curfew, and if they leave, they get a huge fine. It’s crazy," she shared in part, noting that each year has been different for her and her partner.

"Training camp does last for multiple weeks and the women freak out because — so in my situation, I’m a mother. Now he has to abruptly leave, and [I’m] taking care of my rambunctious four-year-old by myself, who has never slept, and he is off the walls," she shared.

Searight then broke down the difficulties that have to do with housing, noting out how some WAGs aren't located in the same areas as their NFL partner's team, which can make relationships a challenge.

Plus, time spent with their partners isn't often, another factor that can make romances difficult.

While Searight says she gets to see her husband "every few days," she noted how others "don't get to see their man at all for like weeks."
