Topeka's Brooklyn DeLeye earns individual honors with Team USA volleyball

It was another fantastic performance for Topeka’s own in an international tournament. Washburn Rural alum and Kentucky volleyball's Brooklyn DeLeye helped U.S. Women’s U21 National Team win the 2025 NORCECA Women’s U21 Pan American Cup on Sunday.

The Americans defeated Chile 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-13) in the championship in Costa Rica. DeLeye was the top player for the national team as she was voted MVP for the tournament along with Best Outside Hitter.

This marks back-to-back summers where DeLeye has earned a major award with the national team. Last year, DeLeye was named the Most Valuable Player and the Best Spiker in the 2024 NORCECA Women’s U21 Continental Championship.

DeLeye and her teammates won Team USA’s third straight Pan Am title. They did it in dominate fashion, too. Across five matches, they never lost a set.

DeLeye is set to begin her junior year with Kentucky. The Wildcats are picked to win the SEC this season. Last week, DeLeye was placed on the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association 2025 Player of the Year Watch List. She is the reigning SEC Player of the Year.
