Chase Burns made Cincinnati Reds history against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In the Reds' series opener against the Dodgers on Monday, July 28, Burns became the second Reds player in at least the past 125 years to record 10 strikeouts in three consecutive starts, according to the Reds. Burns joined former Reds pitcher Raisel Iglesias (2015) in having that distinction.
Burns also became the third major leaguer in the same time frame with 10 strikeouts in three of his first six starts, joining Masahiro Tanaka (2014) and Kerry Wood (2002).
Against the Dodgers, Burns went six innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits. Cincinnati trailed, 3-1, when Burns exited the game.
