The Dallas Wings are off to a disappointing start to the 2025 WNBA season under first-year head coach Chris Koclanes. They currently have a 7-18 record and sit in 12th place in the league standings, ahead of only the 3-20 Connecticut Sun.
Dallas has lost five of its last six contests and has won only two games since the end of June. The lone bright spot for the team has been rookie guard Paige Bueckers, who was named a starter for the WNBA All-Star Game last weekend.
Bueckers is averaging 18.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game for the Wings in 2025.
The Rookie of the Year frontrunner has played in 20 of the team's 25 games this season, averaging 34.6 minutes per night. She missed five games earlier in the season due to an injury, but has played in each game since June 11.
Unfortunately, Dallas made a disappointing announcement regarding their star player on Saturday. Wings reporter Myah Taylor announced that the team was resting Bueckers for their upcoming game against the Las Vegas Aces, and she would be out for the contest.

Las Vegas currently sits in seventh place in the WNBA standings with a 12-13 record. The Wings have lost both matchups to the Aces in 2025 by a combined eight points.
Bueckers has averaged 18 points, 6.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game against Las Vegas in two contests this year. Sunday's game between the Wings and Aces tips off at 4:00 p.m. ET at the College Park Center in Dallas, Texas.
