Missouri women’s basketball signs international forward, rounds out Kellie Harper’s first team

Missouri women’s basketball seemingly has finalized its first roster under coach Kellie Harper, adding a Hungarian forward to the 2025-26 team.

Kellie Harper has gone overseas to seemingly round out her first Missouri women’s basketball roster.

Mizzou announced Monday in a news release that it has signed Hungarian forward Reka Toman. In a social media post announcing the signing, the Tigers called Toman is “the final piece,” likely indicating that Harper’s first team in Columbia is finalized.

According to Toman’s FIBA profile, she is a 6-foot forward who has represented Hungary at numerous levels. That includes the Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup, where the Budapest native averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

Mizzou was a little light on numbers in its frontcourt heading into the 2025-26 season. Cleveland State transfer Jordana Reisma and returner Hannah Linthacum were the only players listed as forwards, even though Mizzou should have some decent positional size on the perimeter with the likes of Grace Slaughter and Abbey Schreacke.

Toman gives Harper another option down low. According to the team’s news release, she averaged 4.3 rebounds per game for Hungarian A-Division outfit Darazsak last season, which indicates she’ll give the Tigers some good presence off the glass.

She is the seventh newcomer on Harper’s squad this offseason.

Mizzou also added Shannon Dowell (Illinois State), Saniah Tyler (Kentucky), Lisa Thompson (Rutgers), Reisma (Cleveland State), Jayla Smith (Purdue) and Sydney Mains (FAU) to the roster out of the transfer portal.

The Tigers don’t have any true freshmen this season, but have two players committed in their Class of 2026 to date.

The Tigers have 13 players on their roster. Under new roster limits, Mizzou could add two more players before the season begins. It looks more likely that MU will roll into the season with its current roster makeup.

According to game contracts obtained by the Columbia Daily Tribune, Missouri is expected to open its season Nov. 3 against Central Arkansas. The Tigers are yet to officially announce their full nonconference slate, but the Tribune has learned of multiple games by obtaining competition contracts.
