New York's Garrett Wilson 'builds' wide receiver monster out of Ohio State pass catchers

Garrett Wilson says he can build the best NFL wide receiver from the best attributes of Ohio State pass catchers.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson's new nickname should be Frankenstein, because the former Ohio State star has built a monster out of OSU pass catchers.

Wilson tossed out multiple names when CBS Sports asked him to build the ultimate wide receiver using only current and former Buckeyes receivers.

"That's all I need," Wilson said of the OSU receiving pool.

Wilson was given a list of attributes, attaching Ohio State names to each one.

Size: Marvin Harrison Jr.

Speed: Chris Olave

Jump ball ability: Jeremiah Smith

Route running: Wilson named himself.

"Marvin is strong," Wilson said, laughing.

Swagger: Jameson Willliams, who played for OSU before transfering to Alabama.

Trash talking: Again, Wilson named himself.

Cardinals receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. catches a pass during practice on July 24.

"I don't overdo it but I try every now and then. I think that's cool," he said. "You're not locked in if you're doing it too much."

Wilson was the 10th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft and has produced for the Jets, catching 83 passes as a rookie, 95 in 2023 and 101 last season. At Ohio State he caught 143 passes over three seasons for 2,213 yards and 24 touchdowns.
