The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid are giving genuine consideration to parting with attacking star Vinícius Jr. this summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Wide-man Vinícius is of course fresh off something of an underwhelming campaign all told in 2024/25.
Overshadowed by new teammate Kylian Mbappé, the Brazilian international was the recipient of regular criticism on the part of the Real Madrid faithful.
And such woes, evidently, didn’t go unnoticed behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Los Blancos have been locked in talks with Vinícius and his entourage over the terms of a new contract for some time now.
Holding things up, however, is the fact that the 24-year-old is asking for pay parity with the club’s top earner, the aforementioned Mbappé.
With his performance level having left so much to be desired over the last 12 months, Florentino Pérez and co. have no intention of affording as much to Vinícius at this moment in time.
In turn, as per a report from MD:
‘Real Madrid are considering the imminent sale of Vinicius. The club haven’t ruled out selling the Brazilian if a significant offer for the player arrives.’
