Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson says he convinced Madden NFL 26 Ja'Marr Chase was 99 Club-worthy

"You've arrived. The 99 Club. Right now. My boy, welcome to greatness," former Bengals WR Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson told Ja'Marr Chase.

The Cincinnati Bengalsshared a video in which former receiver Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson takes credit for current receiver Ja'Marr Chase's 99 rating in Madden 26 after Chase won the first receiving triple crown in Bengals' history.

"I think I caught my rating, and I called Chad right away and I told him this is the wrong rating," Chase says in the video. "It wasn't 99. I dunno, call Chad. 1-800-CALL-CHAD."

"Yo Uno, what's up boy?" Johnson responds in the video. "So listen remember I said you weren't a 99, and I said I'd bump you up after your first touchdown? Listen, about that. I had to play it cool, baby. You know I can't let you get too comfortable out the gate. But the people upstairs at Madden - I went up there and talked to them, right? They've been watching you. I've been watching you. You hear me? We saw what you did last year. Triple Crown, 1,700+ yards, 17 touchdowns, 127 receptions. We all know what you can do. So I'm hear to tell you you're already there. You've arrived. The 99 Club. Right now. My boy, welcome to greatness."

The video shows Chase's reaction as he sits among his teammates.

"Yes, sir! Bout time, huh?" he exclaims, just before receiving a necklace with a large "99" pendant that Chase vowed to wear during games.

Ochocinco wore Chase's jersey to his Bengals Ring of Honor induction ceremony in 2023.
