Kader Kohou joins Bayron Matos on Dolphins’ growing injury list at 2025 camp.
Dolphins Camp Turns Alarming as Player Falls Twice and Struggles to Walk Off Field originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Saturday brought more bad news out of Miami Dolphins training camp as cornerback Kader Kohou went down with a right leg injury during a rep while defending Tyreek Hill.
According to Miami Herald reporter Barry Jackson, Kohou initially collapsed to the ground, got up and took five steps before dropping again. He eventually got up once more but was clearly limping as he exited the field.
The timing couldn’t be worse. Kohou’s injury comes just days after offensive lineman Bayron Matos was airlifted from the Dolphins’ practice field after collapsing twice during Thursday’s session. Matos was taken to a local hospital by helicopter, and while the team confirmed he’s in stable condition, they’ve yet to offer any details on the nature or timeline of his injury.
Kader Kohou, the Dolphins' best remaining corner, just limped off with a right leg injury. He was on ground, got up and walked 5 steps before he fell to ground again. He then got up again limping. Happened while he defended Tyreek.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported Matos’ hospitalization shortly after it occurred, noting the seriousness of the situation and the quick medical response on-site. The moment cast a shadow over what had been a high-energy start to camp, and Kohou’s leg issue has only escalated concern.
Matos remains in the hospital at this time, has movement in his extremities and is in stable condition.
With two players already sidelined by injuries in the first week of camp, Dolphins fans are already voicing frustration and anxiety online.
Expectations for Miami in 2025 remain high. The team won just eight games last season and missed the postseason after 11 wins and a playoff berth in 2023.
This is Mike McDaniel’s fifth year as head coach, and the offensive core led by Tua Tagovailoa, De'Von Achane, Tyreek Hill and Jayden Waddle returns intact. But durability and defensive depth are already being tested before the preseason even kicks off.
The Dolphins will now wait for updates on Kohou’s status and hope this early wave of injuries doesn’t derail what’s hoped to be a playoff-caliber season.
