Transfer window: Yahia Fofana in OL's sights

With Lucas Perri’s departure confirmed a few days ago, Olympique Lyonnais are actively exploring various options. One of them points towards Yahia Fofana, the Ivorian international goalkeeper from SCO Angers.

Lucas Perri has signed for Leeds in a deal worth €16 million. Since then, Olympique Lyonnais have been forced to wait, hoping that the lawyer appointed by OL to resolve the dispute with Nottingham Forest over Matt Turner will act swiftly.

Against this backdrop, on Monday, the name of Yahia Fofana has emerged as a candidate to become OL’s new last line of defense. After coming up through all of France’s youth teams, Fofana opted to represent the Ivory Coast Elephants at senior level and went on to win the Africa Cup of Nations with them.

Sticking with Ligue 1 goalkeepers, Yahia Fofana from Angers is an excellent young, underrated goalkeeper that would probably be available for a fraction of the price of Lucas Chevalier.

For now, Olympique Lyonnais have yet to submit any offer to SCO. Mohamed Toubache-Ter has confirmed that the Angers club is still "waiting for a sign from Lyon…" regarding Yahia Fofana.
