Smart move by Arizona.
The Arizona Cardinals have been hit by the injury bug at cornerback.
They've now brought in the sibling of a superstar to try and solve the problem.
Steven Gilmore Jr. is the new Cardinals' signing. He's the brother of All-Pro and Super Bowl champ Stephon Gilmore.
Steven Gilmore Jr. most recently played in the UFL. He played in the 2023 NFL preseason for the Detroit Lions.
Gilmore Jr. played in college for Marshall and was undrafted in 2023.
He made the initial 2023 Lions roster but eventually went down on the practice squad.

Detroit waived Gilmore Jr. in Aug. 2024, and it's not clear that he latched on with another NFL team.
In January 2025, Gilmore Jr. signed with the Birmingham Stallions in the UFL, where he played well enough to attract NFL attention.
Now, the Cardinals are giving him a chance.
He's only 5-foot-8 and 174 pounds, but Gilmore Jr. runs a 4.44-second 40-yard dash and has a 36.5-inch vertical leap.
His main job, of course, will be to cover wide receivers. If he shows he can do that, he'll have as good a shot to win a job as anyone.
