Designated hitter Kyle Schwarber is in his fourth season with the Philadelphia Phillies after stints with the Chicago Cubs, Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox.
The left-handed slugger is in the final year of the four-year, $79 million contract he signed before the 2022 season and, although both sides have expressed mutual interest in a reunion, retaining him will come at a steep price.
Schwarber is a three-time All-Star, a Silver Slugger winner and has elevated his game in Philadelphia: over 567 games he’s launched 165 home runs, driven in 380 runs and posted an .851 OPS.
He’s also excelled in October, batting .220 with 26 hits, 12 home runs and 17 RBIs across 34 career playoff games in Philadelphia, and was instrumental in the Phillies’ run to the 2022 World Series.
Schwarber has continued to dominate in 2025 with unrestricted free agency approaching.
During Friday’s game against the New York Yankees, Schwarber tied the game in the fifth inning with a two-run home run that marked his 1,000th career hit.
His 319th home run became the most homers by any player when reaching the 1,000-hit milestone in MLB history.
Of course Kyle Schwarber's 1000th hit is a bomb!

Through 102 games this year, he remains Philadelphia’s most consistent bat, hitting .250 with a .940 OPS and belting 34 home runs.
The Phillies are thriving behind his offensive production, sitting at 58–44 in sole possession of a Wild Card spot and trailing the New York Mets by just half a game in the tightly contested NL East.
