Outfielder Jackson Chourio is in his second season with the Milwaukee Brewers after making his MLB debut in 2024.
The 21-year-old signed an eight-year, $82 million contract that guaranteed him more money than any player has received before their big-league debut in December 2023. This agreement includes two club options for additional seasons and buys out Chourio’s first six years of arbitration eligibility and two years of potential free agency.
Chourio responded to the record-breaking extension and delivered an exception rookie season, finishing third in NL Rookie of the Year voting. Over 148 games, he batted .275, posted a .791 OPS, crushed 21 home runs and stole 22 bases at the top of Milwaukee’s lineup.
Chourio is off to another hot start in 2025 and entered Friday’s matchup with the Miami Marlins riding a 17-game hitting streak.
After launching a fourth-inning home run to tie the game, Chourio extended the streak to 18 games—the longest by a player age 21 or younger since Freddie Freeman’s 20-game run in 2011.

Through 101 games this year, Chourio is batting .275 with a .758 OPS, 16 homers and 18 stolen bases, showcasing elite power-speed upside. He’s been especially red-hot in July, compiling a .904 OPS with three home runs and 38 total bases over 18 games.
Milwaukee has surged behind his offensive production, winning eight of their last ten games. The Brewers now sit at 61–42 in first place in the NL Central, maintaining a lead over the second-place Chicago Cubs as they push toward a playoff berth.
