Nation's No. 1 RB reveals four finalists before commitment date.
Nation's No. 1 RB Sets Massive Recruiting Battle Between Four College Football Powerhouses originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Considering they're about to enter their senior years of high school, most of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class have already made a decision on which college programs they intend to join.
One of the biggest names still up for grabs, though, is running back Savion Hiter out of Mineral, Virginia; however, now only a select number of schools are still in the running.
On Friday, Rivals reported he is down to four finalists, choosing among the Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan Wolverines, Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes, with a decision to be made Aug. 19.

Of course, all four of these programs are considered some of the best in college football, and each would love to land Hiter, as Rivals Industry Rankings place him as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 running back, the No. 1 player in Virginia and the No. 8 player in the nation.
That rating doesn't come as much of a surprise considering last season he was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American after accumulating 1,897 yards and 29 touchdowns, while also racking up 56 tackles, seven sacks, four tackles for loss and one interception.
Each of these teams has also gotten a fair chance at making a strong impression, as Ohio State (May 30), Georgia (June 6), Michigan (June 13) and Tennessee (June 20) hosted Hiter for an official visit.
As of now, the Rivals recruiting prediction machine gives the Buckeyes the best chance (27%) to come out on top, followed by the Bulldogs (23.6%), the Volunteers in third (17.4%) and rounded out by the Wolverines (14.5%).
