Rangers centre-back Robin Propper is close to rejoining FC Twente after finally agreeing a long-term contract with his former club, according to Sky Sports News.
The 31-year-old joined the Ibrox club last summer and featured in 43 games across all competitions at the end of his debut campaign.
However, the clubs agreed a deal for Propper to return to Twente earlier this month. While the move initially stalled over personal terms, the defender has finally agreed a long-term contract.
He is now set to leave Rangers and is in the Netherlands for a medical ahead of a return to his former club.
Propper was left out of the matchday squad when Rangers faced Panathinaikos in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League on Tuesday.
Rangers have brought in Nasser Djiga on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers as his replacement, and he played a huge role in a 2-0 win at Ibrox.
Rangers reportedly had a growing concern about how Propper was unable to complete a full 90 minutes just a few months into his arrival last summer.
He finished only seven of the first 13 games he featured in across all competitions.
It is unknown whether this contributed to his imminent departure, but manager Russell Martin has been making much-needed changes to his squad this summer.
He is preparing to challenge in the Scottish Premiership and qualify for the league phase of the Champions League this season, and a few more exits could be on the cards in the coming weeks.
