Puka Nacua watched a "landshark" steal the show Thursday -- by stealing a football intended for him in surprise fashion during Los Angeles Rams training camp.

Per Rams team reporter Stu Jackson, young cornerback Cobie Durant earned a rare personal win over the All-Pro wide receiver. The incoming fourth-year CB delivered a "pair of nice breakups" at the session held on the campus of Loyola Marymount University.

Jackson witnessed the smaller Durant execute both plays on the left side of the field. Jimmy Garoppolo was the quarterback during those team sessions with Durant and Nacua going after each other. Here's what Jackson documented.

"The first would have hit Nacua in-stride had it not been for a timely lunge from the 'landshark,' as he's called. The second came just a few minutes later on a back-shoulder ball near that same spot, and Durant met Nacua up high to knock the pass away and then hit an emphatic "nae-nae" dance in celebration," Jackson wrote.

While it's still practice, Durant denied two touchdowns his side during this 11-on-11 session. More important, the 5-foot-10 CB pulled it off against the leading wideout the past two seasons in L.A.

Sean McVay and defensive coordinator Chris Shula will need this version of Durant moving forward. The Rams couldn't complete a reunion with Jalen Ramsey. Los Angeles lost out on re-landing the beloved defender, who ended up with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The NFC West franchise even missed out on getting Jaire Alexander, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

Durant is one of the few experienced players in a rather questionable CB unit. But these type of practice plays also paint this picture: How Shula, McVay and the Rams have faith in the current CB room despite the lack of star power.
