One of the top college football recruits in the 2026 recruiting class is nearing his decision.
According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, a decision for five-star EDGE recruit Anthony Jones is "coming soon." Jones is heavily considering the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oregon Ducks, and Texas A&M Aggies.
This is a recruitment where Alabama should have an advantage because Jones is right in the school's backyard. He is the top-ranked recruit in Alabama and the fourth-best EDGE recruit in the nation, per 247Sports composite rankings. Jones is also the No. 18 overall recruit, regardless of position.
Jones would be another substantial addition to Alabama's 2026 recruiting class, which is already quite strong. The Tide have the fifth-best recruiting class in the country (per 247Sports) with 20 total recruits. Four of them are five-star recruits, and eight of them are four-star recruits.
They have been on a recruiting hot streak over the last several weeks and want to keep riding the momentum into the 2025 season.
Speaking of the 2025 season, the Crimson Tide will take on the Florida State Seminoles in their first game of the year on August 30 in Tallahassee. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
