Brighton & Hove Albion have decided to terminate Ibrahim Osman’s loan spell at AJ Auxerre, with the winger set to leave the Ligue 1 side before the end of the season.
According to L’Équipe, the 23-year-old Ghana international will be recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion, having failed to establish himself during his time in Burgundy. Osman joined Auxerre last summer on a season-long loan deal that included an option to buy but struggled to make a sustained impact, registering no goals and two assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.
The former Feyenoord winger was absent from Auxerre’s matchday squad for Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to RC Lens, a clear sign that his departure was imminent.
L’Équipe adds that Birmingham City are among the clubs monitoring Osman’s situation, with the Championship side potentially offering him a fresh opportunity during the second half of the season.GFFN | George Boxall
