Lazio Offer Reda Belahyane in Exchange for Serie A Revelation

Several top sources in the Italian press have revealed that Lazio and Hellas Verona are working on a swap deal involving Reda Belahyane and Giovane.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, the Biancocelesti have been tabs on the Brazilian forward since the start of the month, as they have been mesmerized by his performances at the Bentegodi since joining the Gialloblu last summer. The talented 22-year-old is also capable of playing anywhere in attack, so he would be a useful profile for Maurizio Sarri.

Lazio Leading the Race for Giovane

Giovane was heavily linked with a move to Atalanta in recent days, but the Orobici eventually opted to sign Giacomo Raspadori, who was also a target for both Roma and Lazio. Therefore, the Aquile could be in a prime position to land the versatile attacker. Pedullà adds that Lazio and Verona have opened a direct dialogue on Sunday, as a deal could materialize next week.

The two clubs share a long-standing bond, and they often work together in the market. In recent years, the Biancocelesti bought the likes of Mattia Zaccagni, Matteo Cancellieri and Nicolo Casale from the Bentegodi outfit. Curiously, Belahyane was the latest player to make the move, but he might be on his way back to Verona after failing to convince Sarri this term.

Lazio Make an Offer for Giovane

Sky Sport Italia correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio also confirms the two clubs’ mutual interest in a swap deal. For his part, Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina added further details, reporting that Lazio have offered the services of Belahyane plus €10 million and bonuses for Giovane, whom Verona value at €25 million. More developments are expected on this front in the coming hours.
