West Ham United are interested in signing Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, according to the Sun.
West Ham want to strengthen at the back after shipping 62 league goals in the Premier League last term, and manager Graham Potter has been impressed with the Blues star.
However, the Hammers will face competition from Crystal Palace as they look to bring Adarabioyo to the London Stadium.
Chelsea are also not keen on selling the 27-year-old after he impressed during his debut campaign at the Stamford Bridge club.
The Manchester City academy graduate, once praised by Pep Guardiola for being ‘fast’, ‘strong’ and having ‘all the quality’, signed a four-year deal after joining on a free transfer from Fulham last summer.
The West Ham target played in 41 games across all competitions, weighing in with five goals and one assist.
Adarabioyo featured in 22 Premier League games, starting 15 times, and manager Enzo Maresca wants to hold on to him.
However, he could become a regular and guaranteed starter at West Ham, but convincing him and Chelsea to do a deal would be tricky.
Potter has bolstered his defence by signing French centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo permanently after his successful loan spell last term.
Full-backs El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters have also been added to the squad.
West Ham’s chances of getting a deal done for Adarabioyo are slim, and they may need to look elsewhere for the top centre-back Potter craves.
