Former Georgia Bulldogs kicker, fan favorite Rodrigo Blankenship is staying home for his next pro football stop
Former Georgia Bulldogs kicker and fan favorite Rodrigo Blankenship has a new team. The Birmingham Stallions, of the United Football League (UFL), selected Blankenship in the UFL draft.
Blankenship last played with the St. Louis Battlehawks in the UFL last season. He impressed during his time in St. Louis and earned All-UFL recognition in 2025. Blankenship made 21 of 22 field goals including five of six on kicks over 50 yards.
Blankenship tried out for the Los Angeles Rams during the fall, but lost out on the kicking competition to Harrison Mevis. He is always looking for a new opportunity in NFL and recreates the NFL's best kicking performance almost every week on his social media account.
Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron is now the head coach of the Stallions. He drafted Blankenship. The UFL season begins on March 27.
Blankenship along with former Georgia Bulldogs Davin Bellamy, Lewis Cine, Monty Rice, Tre McKitty and Tramel Walthour all ended up as UFL draft acquisitions.
